It’s Official Birthers: STFU

Yeah, this is going to be short, but I think it needs to be said.  I had operated on the assumption that if the evidence was out there that Barack Obama was NOT eligible to be the President of the United States, it would have surfaced by now.

But finally, after the pinhead Trump decided to start hammering Obama about it (most likely because he gets a personal benefit, it being The Donald), and as the POTUS continued to see his poll numbers ticking downward as the gas prices continue ticking up, he dropped the birth certificate.  The long form, with all the signatures.  Here it is, in case you missed it:

Yippie fucking skippy.

The important thing here is that for those of you who have been screaming conspiracy for two years, you can now focus on something that means something.  And if you can’t let it go (as Obama couldn’t for a couple years, obviously), then you’re an idiot.  It means you’re a tinfoil hat wearer. And think that ANY candidate but Ron Paul can save this country. And [pick another conspiracy theory].

Let it go.

First off, kudos on this new site. Hope all is well. Now for the response…..

I’m more than a bit dissapointed in you Patrick in your post herein for a couple of reasons. The first of which is your use of the argument from intimidation tactic wherein you state:

“… if you can’t let it go (as Obama couldn’t for a couple years, obviously), then you’re an idiot….a tinfoil hat wearer….”

By resorting to that tactic, you are showing that you’ve no interest in discussion or debate; that you are not open to reason even if someone should offer up something that might call to question the position which you seem adamant in holding regardless of whatever factual item might discredit it. I always thought you an idividual who was accepting of a dialogue supported by fact, reason, and/or logic.

That said, let me preface my comments by stating that I have never bothered to jump into the fray that is the mundane, trivial assault(s) on Obama to discredit him. I don’t care about his “dad” jeans, the way he throws a baseball, his NCAA picks, how much vacation time and golf he plays, how he reads everything from a teleprompter….etc.

I have always opted to criticize his horrific policy and defeat his ideas and positions with ideas and solutions of my own (our own vis a’ vis liberty positions).

Frankly, I don’t much care about the issue of his birth certificate as a means to defeat him politically.

However, that isn’t to say that one should simply take the release of the birth certificate as the final judgement. If you understand basic law, you understand that the birth certificate is not a judgement which resolves the dispute but rather it is a piece of evidence. Evidence, as it were is subject to questioning by the prosecution.

How objective is it to side with Obama and the White House and essentially state “Well…there ya have it. Nothin’ more to see here.”?

That is ludicrous. Suppose for a minute that the government is/were/was complicit in the assassination of JFK or 9/11 (better still, suppose the government knowingly used humans/military personel as guinea pigs or lied or falsified the gulf of Tonken incident to bring us into war), makes fake bin Laden videos (documented and on record)….

So then what?…the government creates a commission to investigate itself??!! And what might you suppose they’d conclude if in fact they are/were complicit?

The same premise applies here. If in fact Obama is not Constitutionally eligible for the office of the presidency, is it not quite obvious that any documentation he released would refute those claims? Obviously in a legal dispute that would be anyone’s MO.

However, it is not up to the White House or Obama to make the judgement call as to whether or not the release of said documentation satisfies the claim(s) against them.

Lastly, there are a number of questions that arise with respect to the document which I believe the prosecution or persons making the claims against his eligibility are making such as:

    1. According to SSA.gov Hawaii SS #’s start with 575-576. CT starts with 042. Obama’s starts with 042.

    2. Via Acrobat pro version I have, the BC contains 1 item of “deleted or cropped” content.

    3. Document from US Dept. of Health, Education, and Welfare from 1961 on Natality has not 1 mention of “African” as race yet Obama’s birth certificate states “African” as race of the father.

No folds, creases, smudges, flaws. Instead: crispy, clear, no yellowing of paper and this is supposed to be 50 years old.

Why spend millions stopping the release of a document for 3 years then release the document & continue to block release of other documents?

How likely is it that a mother would fly with a newborn baby (something Obama’s mother did in flying to Seattle immediately following his birth)?

    • Yeah, I’m showing absolutely no interest in debate or discussion. Three reasons:

      1. As I stated in the post, if there was clear evidence that would really prove he was ineligible, someone on the right would have found it.

      2. Theoretically, if it was proven sufficiently that there were eligibility issues after 2 years, the resultant Constitutional crisis could really mess this country up at a time we’re already in a mess.

and 3. At this point, it is more important to fight about things that are currently affecting us and not obsessing over damned distractions that are likely to lead to nothing.

So this is probably the last post I’m going to drop on the subject, unless the really obsessive birthers can’t let it go.

    Succintly stated. Carry on….

  3. Toad734 says:

Focus on something that matters…Like Obama’s grades at his first college…That’s the next stupid thing they are going to want him to do that NO other President has had to do…Except the black one.

And we get to see those grades when Sarah Palin shows her high school diploma.

    • To a degree, I’m with you on this. Although those things would be a little more revealing, it’s been TWO YEARS! We really don’t need that info at this point, because he has a record we can point to.

  4. I want to see Toadbat’s grades and birth certificate!

What pond was he born in anyway?

  5. Pamela D Hart says:

I’ve never been on the Birther-bandwagon but I did feel that Obama did a huge injustice to our country by not releasing his bc for over 2 years. It only kept the Birther “flame” ignited and the divisiveness going strong, which we didn’t need considering the other important issues we’ve been facing and as it’s looking, will still be facing.

I also felt that if there had been an “issue” with his bc, certainly Hillary would’ve found something. She wanted the presidency bad enough and she has enough money…

And on a completely unrelated issue: I like your new look, Patrick.
